Hardware Operations Engineer (Quantum Computing)

What you will do

• Install, commission, operate, and maintain the Helios quantum computer.
• Serve as the key technical expert for the assigned quantum computing system.
• Develop, execute, and continuously improve operations, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
• Mentor and train colleagues and collaborators on system operation and maintenance.
• Remotely operate and maintain other hirify.global systems as part of a global team.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and operational quality through structured processes.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Physics or a related field.
• At least six years of postgraduate experience, including experience gained after an M.S. or Ph.D.
• Must be a U.S. Person: a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, or a worker granted asylum or refugee status.
• Due to U.S. Government national security requirements, candidates must not be nationals of the People's Republic of China or Russia unless also U.S. citizens.
• Experience building, validating, optimizing, and using complex scientific apparatus or commercial products based on atomic or similar quantum systems.
• Experience with trapped-ion technology, hardware integration, lasers, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum, electronics, Python, physical modeling, data analysis, and technical documentation.
