Associate Scientist (Neuro-Oncology)

What you will do

• Conduct in vivo studies using preclinical research models, including intracerebroventricular injections, behavioral assessments, transcardial perfusion, tissue collection, and downstream analyses.
• Process brain tissue for histology, cryosectioning, immunofluorescence staining, and confocal microscopy.
• Culture and maintain primary neural cell populations, including microglia, neurons, and astrocytes, as well as established cell lines.
• Analyze and interpret experimental and imaging data while maintaining accurate research records.
• Coordinate preclinical research resources, genotyping workflows, and research support activities.
• Collaborate with laboratory members, core facilities, and research colleagues; contribute to manuscripts, presentations, and protocol development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific field.
• 7+ years of research experience, or 5+ years with a Master’s degree, or 2+ years with a PhD.
• Hands-on experience in experimental neuroscience, immunology, or neuroimmunology.
• Experience with brain tumor models, histology, imaging, and in vivo experimental methods.
• Ability to work independently within broad guidelines and collaborate in a multidisciplinary research environment.

Nice to have

• Experience leading and supporting research experiments.
• Experience coordinating laboratory projects, maintaining research resources, and training laboratory personnel.
• Experience with primary neural cell culture and preclinical research resources.
