Sr. Research Associate, Clinical Biomarker Laboratory, Flow Cytometry

Location: Site-based in Massachusetts, United States; full-time on-site presence is required and remote work is not eligible.

Salary: $74,000–$118,400 per year, with potential discretionary bonus, incentive compensation, or equity.

What you will do

• Execute clinical sample testing under GCLP guidelines for clinical programs across multiple therapeutic areas.
• Develop cell-based and high-parameter spectral flow cytometry assays and participate in fit-for-purpose validation studies.
• Perform ex vivo stimulation, intracellular cytokine staining, immunophenotyping, PBMC isolation, and cryopreservation.
• Run experiments independently from sample preparation through acquisition, analyze data in FCSExpress, and present results.
• Deliver accurate, high-quality clinical data within defined timelines and improve experimental workflows and documentation.
• Support emerging laboratory techniques, general lab organization, and safe laboratory practices.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Immunology, Life Sciences, Biology, or a related field, plus 3+ years of laboratory experience.
• Direct flow cytometry experience covering sample processing, staining, and acquisition.
• Experience with cell culture, ex vivo assays, and cell isolation from tissues.
• Computational skills and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad Prism.
• Demonstrated independence, communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work full-time at the Moderna site in Massachusetts; occasional overtime or weekend work may be required.

• Experience working in a regulated laboratory.
