Associate Research Scientist (Cell & Gene Therapy)

Location: Lake Zurich, Illinois; hybrid role with onsite work 3 days per week. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

Salary: $95,000–$105,000 per year, plus eligibility for a bonus plan with a target of 6% of base salary.

What you will do

• Design, execute, and analyze complex experiments for cell and gene therapy manufacturing.
• Develop and optimize cell culture and purification processes for clinical and commercial manufacturing.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, product management, quality control, and external stakeholders.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and prepare reports communicating research findings.
• Identify and troubleshoot technical challenges, implementing solutions to improve processes.
• Follow Good Documentation Practices, Good Laboratory Practices, and applicable environmental and occupational safety systems.

Requirements

• Ph.D. with 1+ years of relevant experience, M.S. with 2+ years, or B.S. in Engineering, Biology, or a similar field with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with cell culture, aseptic technique, and cellular analysis methods such as flow cytometry, microscopy, or ELISA.
• Written publications and/or oral presentations demonstrating research experience.
• Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and project management skills, with the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Effective spoken and written English is required for working in a heavily regulated environment.
