Location: Bar Harbor, Maine, United States

Salary: $18.59–$29.51 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

  • Conduct experiments using animal models of stroke.
  • Train animals on motor tasks and perform histology and imaging.
  • Apply neuroscience research techniques, including calcium imaging, optogenetics, viral-vector gene targeting, transcriptomics, and behavioral measurements.
  • Analyze experimental data.
  • Prepare reagents and maintain laboratory supplies inventory.
  • Order laboratory consumables and support the organizational setup of a new lab.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences.
  • Strong motivation to learn new neuroscience research techniques.
  • Willingness to contribute to the setup and organization of a new laboratory.
  • Prior animal research experience and a neuroscience background are desirable but not required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with molecular biology techniques such as cloning and AAV virus packaging.
  • Prior experience working with animal research models.
  • Background in neuroscience.
