Manager External Reporting (SEC Reporting)

Location: Phoenix, AZ, USA; hybrid with onsite presence four days per week and one remote day per week.

What you will do

• Manage and prepare SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy, registration, and annual reports.
• Oversee accounting, documentation, and disclosures for acquisitions and divestitures.
• Review complex accounting areas, including cash flows, landfill and environmental models, goodwill, intangible assets, stock-based compensation, and segment reporting.
• Coordinate quarterly reviews and annual external audits, serving as a liaison with auditors, controllers, legal counsel, and corporate departments.
• Maintain SOX processes, accounting policy manuals, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and XBRL documentation.
• Research accounting standards and provide technical accounting guidance and training to controllers and corporate departments.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of combined public accounting or public company SEC reporting experience.
• Six years of public accounting experience at a Big Four or Tier II national firm preferred.
• At least one year leading an external reporting function involving SEC disclosure, reporting, reconciliation, and accounting research.
• Experience with Oracle, Essbase, or similar general ledger, reporting, and database tools.
• Ability to work onsite in the Phoenix office four days per week.
