Director - External Reporting (SEC Reporting)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: USD 159,520–255,300 per year, plus eligibility for RSU, RCU, and cash bonus programs.

What you will do

• Lead the preparation, review, and filing of SEC Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, registration statements, and XBRL tagging.
• Oversee earnings releases, investor presentation materials, and other externally distributed financial information.
• Ensure compliance with SEC disclosure requirements, U.S. GAAP, evolving accounting standards, and disclosure rules.
• Own disclosure controls and procedures and coordinate SOX-related work with internal and external auditors.
• Partner with accounting, FP&A, legal, treasury, tax, investor relations, and internal audit teams across global operations.
• Manage and mentor SEC reporting staff or consultants while driving automation, systems improvements, and best-practice documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA certification.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in SEC reporting, technical accounting, or financial reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, XBRL, and SOX.
• Experience at a public company and/or Big Four public accounting firm.
• Ability to manage complex deadlines and deliver accurate, high-quality results under tight timelines.
• Strong technical accounting, analytical, communication, judgment, and cross-functional influencing skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with multinational or complex organizational structures.
• Familiarity with SAP, Workiva, CCH Tagetik, or other ERP, EPM, and SEC reporting systems.
• Experience supporting IPOs, registrations, debt offerings, or other capital markets transactions.
