TL;DR
Regional Safety Director (Industrial Safety): Leading environmental, health, and safety programs across manufacturing and distribution facilities with an accent on OSHA, FDA, DOT, and environmental regulatory compliance. Focus on conducting facility audits, investigating incidents, developing safety training, and implementing corrective actions across a regional network with up to 50% travel.

Location: Kennesaw, Georgia, or the Atlanta metropolitan area; open to candidates based within the South/Southeast footprint. Hybrid/remote work with field travel; up to 50% regional travel across assigned facilities and distribution branches.

What you will do

  • Lead regional environmental, health, and safety programs across branch locations, manufacturing facilities, and distribution operations.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, training programs, and compliance initiatives.
  • Investigate vehicle accidents, injuries, property damage, near misses, and customer incidents, then coordinate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct facility audits and reviews to identify hazards and verify compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage reporting and record-keeping requirements for OSHA, EPA, DOT, FDA, SARA, RMP, waste management, and related regulations.
  • Coach managers and associates, monitor local safety meetings and training, and coordinate regional safety and incident review committees.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least 8 years of safety management experience in industrial manufacturing or distribution, or at least 5 years with a CSP, ASP, or similar certification.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
  • Computer proficiency with intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance coverage required by company policy.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% throughout the assigned region.

Nice to have

  • Experience in compressed gas manufacturing, cylinder filling operations, or chemical distribution.
