Software Engineer 2 (Java)

Location: Scottsdale, Arizona; four days onsite in a hybrid arrangement at the North Scottsdale office. This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

What you will do

• Analyze user stories and develop secure, maintainable Java services using Spring frameworks.
• Contribute to technical design discussions, peer reviews, integration testing, and Agile ceremonies.
• Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments on AWS.
• Monitor and debug production systems using Prometheus, OpenSearch, logs, and related tools.
• Partner with QA on validation and test planning, and participate in a rotating production on-call schedule.
• Use AI-powered developer assistants such as Copilot and Claude to improve productivity and code quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2–4 years of Java 1.8+ development experience with Spring REST, MVC, and Security.
• Hands-on experience with AWS or another cloud environment.
• Knowledge of REST API design, SQL and relational database fundamentals, secure coding, and application security.
• Proficiency with Git workflows, branching, merge conflict resolution, Jira, Confluence, Maven or Gradle, and a modern Java IDE.
• Strong debugging, communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
