Sr. Software Engineer - Java / SpringBoot / AWS (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid work in Scottsdale; positions in San Francisco, Chicago, or New York also follow a hybrid model. Candidates must already be eligible to work in the United States for any employer. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Base pay: $118,000–$152,000 USD per year for Phoenix, AZ and Chicago, IL, plus a discretionary incentive plan and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, document, test, debug, and maintain software product applications.
• Build complex features and capabilities for core payment products using Java and Spring Boot.
• Design and support RESTful web services and query platform data with SQL.
• Review and approve pull requests while maintaining code quality through Git and Git Flow.
• Build automated tests integrated into CI/CD pipelines and troubleshoot complex development issues.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders on complex capabilities, secure engineering, risk management, and data protection.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering or related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, electrical engineering, or a related field.
• Required experience with Spring and Spring Boot, Git, SQL, RESTful service design, automated testing, and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Kafka.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Successful completion of a background and drug screen, plus existing U.S. work authorization, is required.

Nice to have

• Recent AWS Cloud experience.
• Experience with REST or SOAP services and data formats such as XML, JSON, and YAML.
• NoSQL experience with Redis, HBASE, or AeroSpike.
• FinTech experience.
