Location: Newport, Vermont, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Company

hirify.global designs, develops, and manufactures ballistic helmets and dynamic power and data management solutions for military and law enforcement applications.

What you will do

  • Develop, refine, and standardize manufacturing processes for ballistic helmet production, including layup, molding, pressing, trimming, finishing, and coating.
  • Optimize cycle times, material utilization, yield, throughput, and equipment uptime while preserving ballistic integrity.
  • Lead root cause analysis and failure investigations for delamination, voids, dimensional non-conformance, coating failures, and other process defects.
  • Define critical process parameters such as temperature, pressure, cure time, and consolidation, and implement SPC and process controls.
  • Partner with R&D on material qualification and process transfer, and support NPI and transition from prototype to full-rate production.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and automation improvements; support ballistic testing, lot acceptance, capacity planning, and cost reduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8–12+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in composites, defense, aerospace, or protective equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with molding, pressing, or composite fabrication processes.
  • Strong understanding of process control, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement in safety-critical manufacturing.
  • Experience or understanding of CAD and PLC logic, with strong analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to balance throughput and cost with uncompromising quality and compliance standards.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ballistic materials such as aramids, UHMWPE, or hybrid composites.
  • Familiarity with defense contracting requirements and documentation.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification at Green Belt or Black Belt level.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a passionate, global, and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Collaborate with strategic partners and cross-functional engineering and production teams.
  • Contribute to mission-critical protective equipment for military and law enforcement users.
  • Equal employment opportunities are provided in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
