Research Technician - Gadagkar Lab

Hiring pay range: $19.15–$23.94 per hour

What you will do

• Support scientists, graduate students, postdocs, and technicians across laboratory research projects.
• Conduct behavioral assays and process research data.
• Perform surgical manipulations and tissue collection according to established protocols.
• Carry out histology procedures, including vibratome sectioning, immunohistochemistry, and slide imaging.
• Assist with bird colony care, chemical and reagent ordering, laboratory meetings, and general lab operations.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in the life sciences.
• Previous hands-on research experience in a laboratory environment.
• Collaborative approach and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and at different levels.
• Strong oral and written communication, organization, interpersonal, teamwork, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Proactive attitude, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn and be mentored.
• Ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods, move around the workspace, manipulate objects, and move materials weighing several pounds; work may involve laboratory hazards including chemicals, acids, radiation, vapors, and carcinogenic substances.
