Humanized Technologist (Biomedical Research)

Location: Sacramento, California, United States; onsite laboratory work in an ABSL-2 environment

Compensation: $23.73–$34.41 per hour

What you will do

• Support the creation, maintenance, quality control, and shipment of humanized mice.
• Perform animal husbandry, welfare checks, cage-side observations, room maintenance, sanitation, and barrier procedures.
• Work with human cells and irradiators and perform procedures including tail vein injections, blood collection, intraperitoneal injections, and animal identification.
• Operate steam autoclaves in designated laboratory areas and assess biological indicators.
• Select mice for sales orders, identify deviations, prepare documentation, and complete daily shipment approvals and close-outs.
• Maintain databases, information systems, protocols, SOP records, and other required documentation while supporting colleagues and communicating with supervisors or project managers.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two years of relevant experience required; three years preferred.
• Ability to follow laboratory SOPs, policies, regulatory procedures, and safety practices.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage changing schedules, multitask, and maintain dependable attendance.
• Clear written and oral communication, organization, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use word-processing, spreadsheet, database, communication, and documentation software.
