Senior Cost Analyst/Estimator (Space Defense)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Some domestic travel may be required.

Salary: $110,000–$130,000 per year, depending on education and experience.

Defense research and analysis work supporting Department of Defense and Intelligence Community space vehicle development and acquisition programs.

What you will do

• Support the Office of Space Launch across its divisions, portfolio managers, and program control staff.
• Perform launch cost modeling and maintain launch vehicle cost requirements databases.
• Conduct rapid-response launch vehicle scenario studies for OSL and NRO leadership.
• Develop and maintain estimating tools, databases, and systems to improve accuracy and reduce development time.
• Contribute to specialized independent cost estimates and coordinate with external estimating organizations.
• Interface with project officers, U.S. government partners, and commercial vendors.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph is required.
• At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a minimum of 5 years of NRO experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in mathematics, finance, engineering, business, accounting, or the sciences; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Knowledge of Intelligence Community budgetary principles and procedures.
• Knowledge of acquisition management regulations, policies, procedures, major system acquisition lifecycle resource planning, Acquisition Program Baseline development, and program management plans.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with the judgment to escalate decisions or information when appropriate.
