Journeyman Cost Estimator / Analyst (Aerospace & Defense): Developing and maintaining Excel-based aircraft operations and support cost models and independent cost estimates with an accent on AFTOC data analysis, cost methodology, inflation, and escalation. Focus on normalizing authoritative cost data, supporting ICEs, NACAs, and SCPs, and producing traceable estimates for Department of the Air Force sustainment planning.
Location: Hybrid on/off client site in Washington, DC and the Continental United States (CONUS), with work at or near Joint Base Andrews, Maryland and the Air Force Pentagon.

What you will do
- Develop and execute aircraft operations and support cost estimates under senior oversight.
- Populate and maintain Excel-based legacy cost models using government-furnished templates.
- Collect, normalize, and analyze cost data from AFTOC and other authoritative sources.
- Apply approved cost methodologies, inflation, and price escalation techniques.
- Support independent cost estimates, NACAs, and SCPs through analysis, documentation, reconciliation, and briefings.
- Respond to AFCAA and program office data requests and support multiple estimates each year.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics, mathematics, operations research, finance, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of progressive cost analysis experience, including O&S cost estimating exposure.
- At least 2 years supporting DAF or DoD cost-estimating efforts and experience applying AFI 65-508 principles.
- Current SECRET security clearance.
- Experience with aircraft sustainment, logistics, O&S cost elements, cost risk and uncertainty analysis, and at least one supervised O&S cost estimate.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated ability to independently extract and interpret AFTOC data.
