Master Electrician (Solar & Battery Systems)

Location: El Paso, Texas, United States; on-site. Support field teams across first and second shifts, including extended hours and weekends when deployment milestones require it.

What you will do

• Serve as Master Electrician of Record for Texas operations, pull permits, and ensure compliance with the NEC and local utility requirements.
• Lead, mentor, and sign off on field electricians, technicians, installers, and subcontractors.
• Oversee high- and low-voltage wiring, service panel tie-ins, medium-voltage transformer connections, and utility grid interconnections.
• Develop and enforce commissioning protocols, including cold checks, hot checks, loop checks, and insulation resistance testing.
• Troubleshoot DC-DC conversion systems, solar MPPT networks, power distribution units, inverters, and fiber/copper communications infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering teams in California and Austin to review schematics, improve field manufacturability, and streamline plug-and-play installations.

Requirements

• Valid Texas Master Electrician License in good standing.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in industrial, commercial, or utility-scale electrical construction.
• Expert knowledge of the NEC, NFPA 70E, and Texas utility interconnection frameworks.
• Experience reading and redlining electrical schematics, three-line diagrams, and instrumentation drawings.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme desert conditions, stand or walk throughout shifts, and lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
• Ability to write technical instructions, safety protocols, and field reports in English.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience with utility-scale solar fields, commercial solar microgrids, or utility-scale BESS.
• Knowledge of high-voltage DC hazards, lithium-ion battery management systems, and central inverters.
• Experience in aerospace test complexes, automotive assembly plants, or industrial automation facilities.
• Active OSHA 30 and heavy equipment certifications.
