TL;DR
Electrical Engineer (Power Distribution): Developing, documenting, and improving electrical infrastructure for a manufacturing facility with an accent on substations, switchgear, facility-wide power distribution, and electrical safety. What you will do

  • Develop specifications, scopes of work, bid documents, project schedules, budgets, and implementation plans for electrical infrastructure projects.
  • Document and maintain the plant electrical distribution network, including one-line diagrams, circuits, substations, switchgear, and critical assets.
  • Review vendor designs and electrical plans, support field investigations, and provide construction and commissioning guidance.
  • Coordinate contractors, utilities, vendors, and external stakeholders during infrastructure projects, service upgrades, outages, and annual shutdowns.
  • Determine power loads and energy requirements for equipment installations and facility upgrades.
  • Develop preventive maintenance programs, equipment criticality assessments, electrical safety initiatives, and long-term reliability plans.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, power distribution, facilities engineering, utilities, or industrial manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, and NFPA 70B standards.
  • Experience with industrial power systems from 69kV through 480V, including substations, switchgear, transformers, protective relays, and power monitoring.
  • Experience maintaining distribution documentation, preventive maintenance programs, asset records, and reliability plans.
  • Ability to coordinate electrical outages, shutdowns, capital projects, contractors, schedules, budgets, and vendors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred; equivalent industrial experience will be considered.

Nice to have

  • Experience with large-scale industrial distribution networks and multiple substations.
  • Experience working with utility providers on service upgrades, outages, and infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in heavy manufacturing, foundry, metals, steel, mining, chemical, or power-generation environments.
  • Experience with annual shutdown planning in a 24/7 manufacturing environment and NFPA 70B asset-management practices.
