Evening Anchor (Broadcast Journalism)

Location: Panama City, Florida, United States; onsite newsroom role

What you will do

• Anchor evening newscasts and present news stories across broadcast, digital, and CTV streaming platforms.
• Produce newscasts, coordinate programming, and provide clear direction to newsroom staff.
• Report from the field, conduct interviews, respond to breaking news, and handle urgent newsroom situations.
• Write, research, copy edit, and edit video clips for television, websites, eMedia platforms, and social media.
• Mentor, coach, and help develop reporters and other newsroom staff.
• Participate in promotional activities, including public appearances.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism or a related field, or equivalent education and work experience.
• Fluency in English and excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to ad-lib when required.
• At least five years of experience in news reporting or anchoring, subject to market-size considerations.
• Superior on-air presence, strong news judgment, and broad knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, and issues.
• Experience guiding, directing, motivating, coaching, or mentoring others.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; ability to work any shift and manage multiple deadlines.
