Project Manager (Mid - Principal) | NEW GENERATION (Construction Utility Projects) - Texas / Columbus, OH

Location: On-site in Hallsville, Texas, or Columbus, Ohio, with work at various AEP power plants and construction sites across the United States. Travel is typically 25% or less, with additional travel possible.

Base salary: $88,000–$151,000 per year.

What you will do

• Plan, organize, coordinate, execute, monitor, control, and close construction utility projects.
• Support or lead EPC and combined-cycle gas turbine project activities in a matrix team environment.
• Develop and manage project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing, procurement plans, and project controls.
• Coordinate internal stakeholders, customers, contractors, suppliers, vendors, plant personnel, and operating company staff.
• Manage outside-service contracts, including proposals, bid evaluation, negotiations, vendor performance, and quality.
• Promote safe execution, continuous improvement, quality, risk management, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or a related discipline with 3 years of qualified experience; alternatively, an associate’s degree with 5 years or a high school diploma/GED with 7 years.
• Experience in outage management, major construction, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, business or financial administration, or comparable production environments.
• Knowledge of construction safety, negotiations, scope and cost control, construction contracting, reporting, and quality control.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Ability to perform light physical duties, including construction-site walkdowns on unstable surfaces, ladder climbing, and work around hazardous conditions.
• Ability to work at offices, power plants, nuclear facilities, and construction sites, including possible radiation exposure within applicable NRC limits.

Nice to have

• Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, and/or IT systems.
• PMP certification.
• Three years as a Project Manager Associate or demonstrated equivalent competencies.
