Computer Technician I (VoIP)

Location: Los Alamos, New Mexico, United States; onsite at a customer site

What you will do

• Provide technical support to designers, engineers, and other team members during a major VoIP deployment and implementation.
• Test and verify telecom hardware and support peripherals against specifications.
• Record and analyze test data to validate equipment performance.
• Monitor VoIP and telecom equipment and make configuration modifications as needed.
• Analyze requirements and recommend equipment layouts, including computers, telephones, and peripherals.
• Maintain current knowledge of computer technology and related systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent training and education.
• At least two years of relevant experience.
• Basic knowledge of network and computer hardware and software.
• Knowledge of configuration management, desktop communications, network services, and internet directory services software.
• Communication, problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Active DOE L or Q clearance, or the ability to obtain one; US citizenship is required.
