Senior Radar Systems Engineer

Location: Dahlgren, Virginia, United States; onsite support for naval radar and combat-system programs

What you will do

• Support the AN/SPY-6 radar program through systems engineering technical reviews.
• Integrate radar systems with Aegis and Ship Self Defense System combat systems.
• Plan and support land-based and shipboard developmental and operational testing, evaluation, and analysis.
• Support radar system certification and review contractor and government documentation and presentations.
• Develop and present radar and combat-system integration concepts, plans, and analysis results.
• Contribute to capability concept development and requirements definition, traceability, and decomposition for AN/SPY-1 and Future X-Band Radar.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an ABET-accredited engineering field such as mechanical, electrical, computer, or electronics engineering, or in mathematics, computer science, or physics.
• At least 10 years of systems engineering experience with Surface Navy radar and combat systems.
• Experience with DOD 5000 systems engineering technical reviews and the NAVSEA Technical Review Manual.
• Experience with NAVSEA element and combat-system certification, radar integration into the Surface Navy fire-control loop, and land-based and shipboard testing.
• Knowledge of radar modeling and simulation, systems requirements decomposition, and complex radar-system calculations and integration.
• Secret security clearance required.

Nice to have

• 15–20 years of systems engineering experience with Surface Navy radar and combat systems.
• Five years of experience with both the Aegis combat system and Ship Self Defense System.
• Experience in radio-frequency hardware, antenna engineering, signal processing, or electronic protection.
