Systems Development Engineer (Radar)

Location: Full-time onsite at the office in Hawthorne, California, United States

Salary: $140,000–$280,000 per year base compensation

What you will do

• Design and develop radar signal-processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification.
• Lead the development of new radar capabilities and modes with minimal guidance.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and resource constraints.
• Implement algorithms in software such as C++, Python, and MATLAB, and/or hardware including FPGAs and DSPs.
• Build and maintain radar system simulations and models, analyze data, and evaluate system performance.
• Plan and lead field tests, document technical findings, contribute to system requirements, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Deep understanding of radar systems, radar modes, radar principles, signal-processing techniques, and algorithms.
• Systems Engineering experience with RF systems.
• Expertise in digital signal processing, algorithm development, and data analysis.
• Strong familiarity with Python or MATLAB and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice to have

• Graduate degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Experience with radar waveform design, matched filtering, Doppler processing, and clutter rejection.
• Experience with both sides of the Systems Engineering V.
• Experience with C++.
