TL;DR
RF Engineer III - E3 (Aerospace): Designing, analyzing, and testing sophisticated RF and electromagnetic environmental effects systems for next-generation airborne command-and-control aircraft with an accent on RF front-end design, electromagnetic interference, and compliance analysis. Focus on developing E3 integration and interference test documentation, performing co-site and HEMP analysis, and supporting MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-464 requirements.

Location: Plano, Texas, United States; office or hybrid environment

What you will do

  • Lead the design, development, analysis, and testing of RF and electromagnetic environmental effects systems for aerospace and defense applications.
  • Perform E3, co-site, HEMP, RF propagation, microwave path, and electromagnetic interference analyses.
  • Develop E3 integration analysis reports, electromagnetic interference control plans, test plans, test reports, and TEMPEST documentation.
  • Support allocation and verification of MIL-STD-464 and MIL-STD-461 requirements.
  • Analyze failure data and recommend corrective and preventive actions in multidisciplinary development teams.
  • Travel as required and work with RF test equipment and engineering analysis tools.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a higher relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in RF/E3 engineering or a related role.
  • Proficiency in RF/E3 design and testing techniques, modeling, analysis methods, and tools.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary design and development teams.
  • U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance are required.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods, handle small components and equipment, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Experience with ANSYS HFSS, ANSYS EMIT, ANSYS SAVANT/SBR+, CST, EMA3D EMC+/Charge+, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Knowledge of aerospace and defense standards, RF principles, co-site analysis, E3 integration, link budgets, and antenna patterns.
  • Experience creating compliance documentation, test plans, analysis reports, and checklists.
  • Experience using vector network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.
  • Knowledge of RF assemblies, component selection, and technical specification development.
