Principal RF Test Engineer II (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and implement engineering RF test plans and procedures.
• Develop test requirements, reusable test architectures, procedures, scripting, and measurement abstraction layers with design and test engineering teams.
• Perform RF measurements and interpret results for stakeholders, including conducted measurements and advanced performance metrics.
• Architect RF test systems and participate in design-for-test planning and reviews from the early stages of RF product development.
• Manage laboratory equipment and guide key equipment purchase decisions.
• Present engineering design reviews to customers and executives and contribute to proposal writing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• At least 11 years of industry or university research experience designing, analyzing, and implementing RF test systems.
• High proficiency with RF measurements including linearity, NSD, and EVM.
• Experience designing and developing test architectures with scripting, test executives, hardware, and measurement abstraction layers.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, source measurement units, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and vector signal analyzers.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, conditional resident, asylee, refugee, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice to have

• Phased-array over-the-air range testing, including phase/amplitude calibration, EIRP, G/T, axial ratio, scan loss, and pattern cuts.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, MATLAB, C, or C++.
• Understanding of RF and mixed-signal hardware such as amplifiers, filters, ADCs/DACs, and antennas.
