Principal RF Test Engineer I (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design, analyze, and implement engineering RF test plans and procedures.
• Develop test requirements, reusable test architectures, and measurement abstraction layers with design and test engineering teams.
• Perform and interpret conducted RF measurements, including S-parameters, compression, noise figure, phase noise, EVM, and spurious emissions.
• Architect RF test systems and contribute to design-for-test planning and reviews during early RF product development.
• Manage laboratory equipment and guide key equipment purchase decisions.
• Present engineering design review materials to customers and executives and support proposal writing.

Requirements

• BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• At least 9 years of industry or university research experience designing, analyzing, and implementing RF test systems.
• High proficiency with RF measurements such as linearity, NSD, and EVM.
• Experience designing test architectures involving scripting, test executives, hardware, and measurement abstraction layers.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, source measurement units, RF signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and vector signal analyzers.
• Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain the required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with phased-array over-the-air range testing, including calibration, EIRP, G/T, axial ratio, scan loss, and pattern cuts.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, MATLAB, C, or C++.
• Understanding of RF and mixed-signal hardware, including amplifiers, filters, ADCs, DACs, and antennas.
