TL;DR
RF Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and testing space-based RF hardware and ground systems with an accent on RF laboratory testing, EMI/EMC compliance, and hardware verification. Focus on configuring and calibrating RF test equipment, analyzing test data with MATLAB or Python, and supporting spectrum certification for AFRL programs.

Location: On-site at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States

What you will do

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate RF test configurations in laboratory and field environments.
  • Test RF components, subsystems, and complete systems, including EMI/EMC testing to MIL-STD-461 standards.
  • Analyze RF test data and present findings to engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Support hardware verification and validation, test planning, execution, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in design reviews and review vendor test plans and deliverables.
  • Support spectrum certification and frequency coordination, including DD Form 1494 submissions using EL-CID and Spectrum XXI.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • DoD Secret clearance with TS/SCI eligibility required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, RF Engineering, or a related discipline with an RF focus.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on engineering or testing experience with radio-frequency systems.
  • Experience planning and conducting RF laboratory or field tests, including data acquisition and analysis.
  • Experience with RF test equipment, MATLAB or Python for data modeling and analysis, and EMI/EMC testing concepts.

Nice to have

  • Experience with DoD space programs, particularly PNT or small-satellite systems.
  • Experience with RF system calibration, ESD best practices, or classified laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with DD Form 1494, EL-CID, and Spectrum XXI.
