IT Intern (Cloud and DevOps)

Location: Beavercreek, Ohio, United States; based at headquarters. Full-time, three-month summer internship starting in May 2027. U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance are required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

hirify.global is a Dayton-based defense startup building software that helps people make informed decisions from raw intelligence data, specializing in satellite collection.

What you will do

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises infrastructure.
• Support user onboarding and offboarding, hardware and software provisioning, and help desk requests.
• Implement and test Python and Bash automation scripts for IT tasks and infrastructure-as-code deployments.
• Configure observability dashboards, alerts, and logging pipelines using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• Document IT processes, runbooks, and system configurations.
• Assist with vulnerability scanning, patch management, compliance checks, incident response, and system upgrades under senior team guidance.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Systems Administration, or a related field, with the junior year completed by Summer 2027.
• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
• Basic understanding of operating systems, preferably Linux, and networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
• Familiarity with Python, Bash, or PowerShell, or strong willingness to learn quickly.
• Interest in cloud computing, DevOps practices, or observability tools.
• Availability to work full-time for the entire internship.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, GCP, Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes.
• Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
• Help desk, desktop support, sysadmin, or personal IT project experience.
• Interest in AI/ML infrastructure or high-performance computing.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, Terraform, or Ansible.
