Mission Planning Software Test Engineer - B-52

Location: Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, United States; onsite. Travel: 25%, including CONUS and OCONUS meetings. Extended hours, weekends, and holidays may be required.

What you will do

• Plan, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate software test projects and assessment methods.
• Establish test criteria, assess program effectiveness, and investigate unusual testing conditions and technical issues.
• Apply aviation and mission-planning expertise to evaluate software functionality and operational use.
• Serve as a mission-planning authority on software quality and address critical customer questions.
• Conduct unit, integration, system, and acceptance testing using established methodologies.
• Support testing across Windows and UNIX environments and use automated mission-planning software.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Technical master's degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience; additional experience may substitute for education.
• Current active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• Extensive experience as a military aircrew member with B-1, B-2, or B-52 experience, including manual mission-planning procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of Technical Orders, aircraft performance charts, Air Force directives, CMMI, and Agile processes.
• Security+ CE or higher DoD 8140 certification required within six months of hire and throughout employment.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS).
• Familiarity with USAF developmental and test processes for software acquisition and evaluation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
