Software Quality Engineer II — Test Automation (Aerospace and Defense)

What you will do

• Lead software requirements analysis and reviews to ensure requirements are clear, complete, and testable.
• Develop, document, and maintain complex test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test reports.
• Execute and oversee manual and automated testing, document results, and track issues through resolution.
• Identify, document, and report complex defects while coordinating timely resolution with stakeholders.
• Lead software configuration control and support quality activities throughout the software development life cycle.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers, project managers, and technical leads; mentor junior QA team members and improve QA processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 2 years of experience as a software quality engineer or in a related role; without a degree, 6 years of related experience is required.
• Experience with software development life cycle models, software verification, testing techniques, test environments, and common programming languages.
• Experience with requirements and bug-tracking tools, compliance assessments, and quality issue resolution.
• Basic knowledge of networking, servers, network storage devices, and computers.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain required U.S. government authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience with subcontractors, diverse development environments, or software-intensive government and regulated-industry programs.
• Experience with AS9100, AS9115, ISO 9001, CMMI, or ISTQB Foundation certification.
• Previous software QA leadership experience, especially in aerospace and defense.
