TL;DR
Senior Software Quality Engineer II (Embedded and Aerospace QA): Planning and executing formal test plans, audits, and integration testing for software supporting DoD applications across embedded hardware, phased-array systems, space payloads, and radio frequency solutions with an accent on quality management, test environments, and release validation. Focus on building test dashboards, investigating actionable software defects, validating customer-specific configurations, and improving AS9100-aligned quality processes.

Location: Westminster, Colorado, United States; on-site. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Salary: $130,000–$161,000 per year

What you will do

  • Independently review and execute formal test plans for software products supporting Department of Defense applications.
  • Plan, organize, prioritize, and execute test cases and plans, including dashboards for tracking testing progress.
  • Set up and manage system integration and test environments that simulate real-world scenarios.
  • Document and communicate software defects with clear, actionable information for developers.
  • Conduct process and product audits across the software development lifecycle and improve quality management procedures.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams using Agile practices and tools including Jira, Confluence, Docker, and GitLab.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of software engineering experience, including substantial Quality Assurance or system testing experience.
  • Experience with SDLC quality processes, process and product audits, test environment management, and release validation.
  • Experience creating process flows and documentation aligned with AS9100 and applicable industry standards.
  • Experience with C, C++, or Python, plus Agile methodologies and Jira, Confluence, Docker, or GitLab.
  • U.S. citizenship, permanent residence, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. export authorizations is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AS9100 safety and AS9115 quality standards.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, statistical process control, sampling, Six Sigma, or root cause analysis.
  • System software integration testing experience with embedded software, Linux, and IP-based setups.
