TL;DR
Project Manager to Project Manager Principal (Energy): Managing construction, infrastructure, and utility projects from planning through closeout with an accent on safety, project controls, procurement, contracts, and stakeholder coordination. Focus on leading matrix teams, controlling scope, cost, schedule, and risk, and progressively taking ownership of complex projects across power and telecom infrastructure.

Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States; on-site. Work may take place at homes, offices, power plants, nuclear facilities, and construction sites, with travel typically 25% or less.

Salary: $87,633.00–$151,132.50 annually, depending on qualifications and level.

What you will do

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, execute, monitor, control, and close base, intermediate, and complex projects.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, staffing plans, procurement strategies, and project controls.
  • Lead project meetings, outage updates, stakeholder presentations, and clear written and oral status reporting.
  • Coordinate internal teams, customers, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and operating company personnel.
  • Manage outside-service contracts, including proposals, competitive bids, negotiations, vendor performance, and quality.
  • Promote safe delivery, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and effective project closeout.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, business, project management, computer science, or a related field, with 3–7 years of qualified experience depending on level; equivalent associate degree or high school pathways require additional experience.
  • Experience in project management, major construction field work, project estimating, project controls, project engineering, outage management, or comparable production environments.
  • Knowledge of construction safety, negotiations, scope and cost control, construction contracting, reporting, quality control, risk management, and procurement.
  • Effective leadership, team-building, meeting-management, communication, conflict-management, strategic planning, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to perform light physical duties, including construction-site walkdowns on unstable surfaces and climbing ladders, and to work in hazardous or radiation-controlled areas at nuclear sites within NRC limits.
  • Valid state driver’s license required; willingness to travel, typically 25% or less, is required.

Nice to have

  • Experience in utilities, commercial nuclear power, or IT systems.
  • PMP certification.
  • Prior experience progressing from Project Manager Associate to Project Manager and Senior Project Manager levels.
