Performance Engineering Manager (Fintech)

Location: Dearborn, Michigan, United States. Hybrid role requiring onsite work four or more days per week. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $115,500–$218,100 per year.

What you will do

• Own and evolve the hirify.global Credit performance testing strategy, roadmap, and maturity vision.
• Build, manage, and mentor a performance engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, reviews, and career development.
• Define non-functional requirements, workload models, SLAs, and test scenarios with product, architecture, and engineering teams.
• Direct load, stress, endurance, spike, volume, scalability, component, integration, regression, and browser performance testing.
• Establish CI/CD performance quality gates, continuous testing pipelines, and Grafana/PowerBI dashboards.
• Coordinate environment readiness, capacity planning, risk assessments, production readiness, and executive reporting across technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on performance testing and engineering experience, including 3+ years managing a performance or test engineering team.
• Expert proficiency with JMeter and/or LoadRunner, including distributed load generation.
• Strong scripting skills in Java, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience with GCP, Grafana, Dynatrace, InfluxDB, CloudBuild, and GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices, API gateways, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, DB2, reliability, availability, scalability, chaos engineering, and distributed tracing.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or experience in automotive, banking, lending, or fintech.
• Kubernetes/GKE, cloud-native performance tuning, chaos engineering, synthetic monitoring, or real-user monitoring experience.
• Experience with performance-as-code, Test Centers of Excellence, vendor management, or relevant performance and cloud certifications.
• Experience presenting technical risk assessments to senior or executive leadership.
