Software Engineering Manager

Location: Hybrid in Columbus, Akron, or Dayton, Ohio

Salary: $96,148–$124,597 in Akron; $101,489–$131,519 in Columbus or Dayton.

What you will do

• Define and execute the strategic direction for software engineering initiatives in alignment with business goals.
• Build, mentor, and lead engineering teams delivering complex software solutions at scale.
• Lead software architecture, solution design, and enterprise application integration across business units.
• Oversee project delivery, timelines, performance metrics, and engineering outcomes.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on technology investments and resource allocation.
• Deliver scalable digital solutions for production and corporate initiatives while fostering quality and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of experience in software or solutions development.
• Experience leading teams in the delivery of enterprise-scale applications or AEC technology platforms.
• Proficiency in one or more of .NET/C#, Python, JavaScript, React, Node, REST APIs, or SQL.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, SQL Server, GitHub, modern development methodologies, debugging, code review, secure coding, and software documentation.
• Ability to integrate AI-enabled applications using Azure or AWS environments.

Nice to have

• At least 5 years of leadership experience.
• Microsoft Azure Developer Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure AI Engineer Associate, or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification.
• Certified Scrum Master or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner certification.
