TL;DR
Program Manager (Space Systems): Leading the development, integration, and delivery of payloads and complete space vehicles with an accent on program planning, technical oversight, and cross-functional leadership. Focus on managing complex space systems from concept through operation, mitigating technical risks, coordinating launch and mission operations, and maintaining aerospace and export compliance.

Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States; must be local to the work location with flexibility for occasional telework

What you will do

  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of space systems programs, including payload development, vehicle integration, and mission operations.
  • Manage program plans, schedules, budgets, resources, deliverables, and competing priorities.
  • Coordinate engineering and technical stakeholders through system design, integration, testing, validation, and operational readiness.
  • Identify program and technical risks, evaluate trade-offs, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary interface for customers, leadership, engineering, operations, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Lead program and customer reviews, support launch operations, monitor post-launch performance, and contribute to contract growth and new business.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a related field with 10–12 years of experience; equivalent master’s or PhD pathways are accepted.
  • At least five years of space industry experience, including payload and vehicle development and management of complex space systems from concept through operation.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing payload design, satellite systems, and vehicle integration.
  • Proficiency with project management methodologies, tools, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of aerospace standards and manufacturing processes, with strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and customer-facing skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance; occasional travel is required for reviews, testing, and launch operations.

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field.
  • PMP, Agile, or Scrum certification.
  • Experience with launch operations, mission architecture, government contracts, ITAR, and export compliance.
  • Familiarity with satellite communications, propulsion, thermal control, and attitude/orbit control systems.
