Diesel Mechanic (Heavy Equipment)

Location: Belle Glade, Florida, United States; onsite work with outdoor and field-based equipment duties

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, transmissions, and drivetrain components.
• Perform preventive maintenance at 250-hour, 500-hour, 1,000-hour, and 2,000-hour service intervals.
• Inspect and maintain excavators, dozers, wheel loaders, articulated haul trucks, skid steers, and on-road trucks.
• Complete oil changes, fluid checks, fueling, fuel logs, maintenance records, repair documentation, and work orders.
• Ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements while following company safety procedures.
• Coordinate with operations and project teams to reduce equipment downtime.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience repairing and maintaining diesel engines and heavy construction equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read service manuals, schematics, and repair documentation.
• Valid driver's license required; a Class B CDL with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements may be required for some positions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively on flexible day or night shifts.
• Ability to lift heavy tools and components and work outdoors, in confined spaces, and in physically demanding positions.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAT equipment.
• Technical training in diesel technology or heavy equipment repair.
• OEM certifications such as CAT or Cummins.
• Welding and fabrication experience.
• Construction industry experience.
