Diesel Maintenance Mechanic (Heavy Equipment)

Location: On-site at the Asheboro Carl Road location in Asheboro, North Carolina, USA

Salary: $20.72–$27.60 per hour

What you will do

• Diagnose, build, rebuild, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment systems.
• Inspect and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain diesel and gasoline engine-driven heavy trucks and construction equipment.
• Weld and fabricate components for trucks and secondary equipment.
• Perform emergency field repairs, service road calls, and order required parts and supplies.
• Complete equipment maintenance records.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of plant or heavy equipment maintenance experience.
• At least 1 year of diesel mechanical experience.
• Valid driver's license; CDL Class A is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, or at least 5 years of verifiable maintenance experience.
• Ability to read micrometers, dial indicators, digital multimeters, and other electronic diagnostic tools.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools, drill presses, and gas welding, brazing, or cutting equipment, and work at heights and outdoors.
