SOLIDWORKS CAD Designer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Create and revise SolidWorks 3D part and assembly models from sketches, markups, and engineering direction.
• Prepare 2D detail, fabrication, and assembly drawings with production dimensions, notes, and basic tolerances.
• Build organized drawing packages for parts, assemblies, and fabrication work.
• Maintain consistency among models, drawings, BOMs, and revisions as approved changes are implemented.
• Collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to resolve drafting questions and incorporate shop feedback.
• Review work for accuracy, completeness, fit, and consistency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience creating, modifying, and maintaining SolidWorks 3D part and assembly models and related 2D drawings.
• Ability to produce accurate fabrication and assembly drawings and follow revision practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to organize CAD files, BOMs, and drawing changes.
• Clear communication and collaboration skills for working with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Must qualify as a U.S. person under ITAR export-control requirements: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee.

Nice to have

• Experience with sheet metal, fabricated components, enclosures, or power-equipment drawings.
• Familiarity with PDM and revision control.
• Hands-on manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly experience.
