TL;DR
MK1 CAD Drafter II (Creo/Windchill aerospace): Translating engineering designs and sketches into detailed 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and interface control documents for reusable lunar landers with an accent on GD&T, configuration control, and manufacturability. Focus on creating aerospace detail, assembly, and installation drawings, supporting engineering changes and first-article inspections, and resolving fabrication issues with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Location: Space Coast, Florida, United States. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Base pay range for Washington applicants: $34.39–$48.14 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.

What you will do

  • Translate engineering designs and sketches into detailed 3D models, drawings, and assemblies using Creo and Windchill.
  • Create and maintain detail part, assembly, and installation drawings compliant with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
  • Develop interface control documents and maintain bills of materials for structural assemblies.
  • Perform tolerance stack-up checks and drawing reviews to support manufacturability and dimensional accuracy.
  • Process engineering change requests and orders while maintaining CAD configuration control and version management in Windchill PLM.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and quality teams on drawing discrepancies, fabrication issues, first-article inspection, and production support.

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of experience creating detailed drawings and models for aircraft, spacecraft, or launch-vehicle structures.
  • Proficiency with Creo (Pro/E) and Windchill 10.
  • Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles under ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience creating drawings for metallic and/or composite structures, including fastener callouts, weld symbols, and standard hardware representation.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret engineering intent from sketches, models, and verbal direction.
  • Must meet U.S. export-control work authorization requirements.

Nice to have

  • Experience with configuration management and PLM systems.
  • Familiarity with machining, forming, and composite layup/cure processes.
  • Experience supporting first-article inspection and production-floor troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of material callouts and basic material compatibility.
  • Experience in a regulated aerospace environment such as AS9100.
