Technical Illustrator/CAD Designer

What you will do

• Create technical illustrations, exploded views, assembly sequences, and callout graphics for mechanical and electromechanical assemblies.
• Develop shop-floor work instructions, installation guides, assembly procedures, and 3D documentation from CAD models.
• Create and modify SolidWorks models and 2D drawings with GD&T, bills of materials, datum structures, tooling access, finishes, coatings, and heat treatments.
• Support prototype builds and document CNC milling, turning, lathe, sheet metal, welding, and fabrication processes.
• Collaborate with machinists, technicians, and engineers on machined and pressure-containing hardware documentation.
• Review drawings for compliance, document deviations and corrective actions, and support pressure vessel documentation and testing under ASME Section VIII.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in CAD and technical illustration.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD tool and experience with PDM and PLM systems.
• Strong GD&T knowledge according to ASME Y14.5 and the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Understanding of CNC machining, lathe operations, sheet metal fabrication, coatings, and finishes.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

• SolidWorks Composer and Adobe Illustrator experience.
• Aerospace or energy industry background.
• Experience with Teamcenter, Windchill, machine shops, CNC workflows, weldments, or pressure systems.
