Bar Operator - 1st Shift ($25.15+)

Location: Appleton, Wisconsin, United States. On-site first-shift role working Monday–Thursday in four 10-hour days, with overtime at the end of shifts, on Fridays, and occasionally Saturdays.

Starting pay: $25.15–$26.80 per hour. Second- and third-shift premiums are $2.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Check job sheets and set up machines for cutting, milling, bending, and related operations.
• Operate mills, lathes, saws, punches, tube benders, and other production equipment.
• Load and unload materials, prepare parts, apply measurements, and move parts using carts or material-handling equipment.
• Read blueprints, schematic diagrams, job routings, work orders, and production paperwork.
• Recognize abnormal operating conditions, follow safety instructions, use required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean work area.
• Support co-workers with lifting, rotate between machines, and work overtime as needed.

Requirements

• At least one year of relevant experience or a high school diploma/equivalent education.
• Previous experience using basic hand tools.
• Ability to read tape measures, safety manuals, work orders, blueprints, and schematic diagrams.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift, safely operate equipment, and lift or manipulate parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to hear safety alarms, maintain balance on the shop floor and portable steps, and follow written and verbal instructions.

Nice to have

• Previous metal fabrication experience.
• Previous experience as a Pierce team member or contractor.
