Product Owner (Insurtech)

Location: Urbandale, Iowa, United States

What you will do

• Define and maintain product vision, goals, and roadmap aligned with high-value outcomes.
• Own and refine initiatives, epics, features, and stories while prioritizing work and maintaining backlog readiness.
• Manage technical debt allocation and enforce standards for acceptance criteria, intake, and backlog hygiene.
• Lead discovery, clarify problems, present solution options, and facilitate decisions involving scope, sequencing, dependencies, and risks.
• Partner with IT, delivery, and engineering teams to manage workflow and support Scrum planning and sprint goals.
• Define, manage, and report on critical product metrics.

Requirements

• Experience as a Product Owner or equivalent, owning prioritization and backlog quality for enterprise platforms.
• Strong experience creating epics and user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and applying prioritization methods.
• Experience with discovery, stakeholder alignment, tradeoff facilitation, and coordination across business and technical teams.
• Experience with Kanban teams, Scrum teams, and agile ceremonies; Jira experience is preferred.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills with business, technical, and data stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
