Machinist (Manual Machining)

Location: Penn Yan, New York, United States; onsite

Salary: $28.14–$32.41 per hour

What you will do

• Read blueprints to identify required equipment, materials, tools, and components.
• Repair and manufacture machine components using lathes, milling machines, drill presses, micrometers, and grinding machines.
• Operate machines to grind, cut, and polish materials according to specifications.
• Complete projects with manual tools and inspect finished components.
• Maintain machining and maintenance equipment in good working order.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Manual dexterity and proficiency with measuring tools.
• Blueprint reading skills.
• Experience with lathe machining, milling machines, and surface grinders.
• At least one year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Work a full-time, eight-hour day shift from Monday through Friday.

Nice to have

• Machinist vocational certificate or completed industry apprenticeship.
• Previous experience as a lathe operator or in another manual machining role.
