Machinist CNC and Manual-2nd Shift (CNC Machining)

Location: Anoka, MN, US; onsite, Monday–Friday, 1:45 PM–10:15 PM

Compensation: $20.40–$37.80 per hour

What you will do

• Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes for production and short-run or repair work.
• Operate manual mills, lathes, drill presses, band saws, and precision grinding equipment.
• Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions and select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and measuring equipment.
• Inspect parts with micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measurement tools.
• Make basic machine-side program edits, including offsets, wear adjustments, and minor changes.
• Maintain part quality, perform basic machine maintenance, follow safety procedures, and communicate tooling, material, or machine issues to supervision.

Requirements

• Experience operating CNC milling and turning equipment.
• Experience operating manual mills and lathes.
• Ability to hold close tolerances and perform precision work.
• Strong understanding of feeds, speeds, tooling, and materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and use standard inspection tools.
• Dependability, self-motivation, and ability to work independently on second shift.

Nice to have

• CNC setup experience.
• Short-run or job shop experience.
• Surface or cylindrical precision grinding experience.
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Trade school, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands-on experience.
