Machinist

Location: Baltimore, MD, United States; onsite

Salary: $23–$30 per hour. Experienced machinists may receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus.

Builds capital equipment and manufacturing technology for the paper-converting, packaging, corrugating, sheeting, and related industries.

What you will do

• Perform rough and finish turning, drilling, tapping, boring, facing, recessing, thread cutting, and related machining operations.
• Machine shafts, housings, heads, and other ferrous and non-ferrous metal parts to specification.
• Set up, adjust, align, and operate mills, lathes, saws, grinders, and specialized machine tools.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to follow the correct machining sequence.
• Measure and test completed units using micrometers, Vernier calipers, and other precision instruments.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and collaborate with teammates to solve problems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances and use precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to select appropriate tools, machines, and materials for machining work.
• Ability to work onsite in Baltimore, Maryland.
