Director, Distribution Engineering

Location: May be based in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, or Massachusetts/Connecticut; the role oversees multiple locations and geographically dispersed teams.

What you will do

• Provide senior oversight of electric distribution engineering and design deliverables across multiple utility programs.
• Mentor and develop engineering managers, technical leads, and senior engineers while building a culture of accountability, safety, quality, and technical rigor.
• Serve as a senior advisor to utility clients and oversee contract execution, staffing, scope management, and delivery risk.
• Support new utility client pursuits, program expansion, proposals, interviews, and client presentations.
• Lead continuous improvement across engineering processes, delivery models, reporting, governance, and administrative systems.
• Support regional P&L performance through staffing, utilization, cost management, and stronger business acumen.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Electrical engineering background or significant relevant electric distribution engineering experience.
• 12–15 years of progressive experience in utility, EPC, or consulting environments.
• 7+ years of senior leadership experience overseeing managers, senior engineers, and multi-office or regional teams.
• Experience leading utility distribution engineering, managing utility client relationships, and working with regulatory and safety requirements.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred; strong technical, strategic, financial, communication, and relationship-building skills are required.
