Electrical Engineer (Building Design)

What you will do

• Coordinate electrical design teams through schematic design, development, and contract document phases.
• Design lighting, power, and building electrical systems; select equipment and devices; and prepare electrical specifications.
• Coordinate reviews with governing agencies and support code compliance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary documents, resolve design conflicts, and incorporate approved changes, addenda, RFIs, CPRs, and change orders.
• Conduct project-site work sessions and provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Perform QA/QC reviews of work completed by electrical engineers, coordinators, and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an electrical emphasis.
• Previous experience in electrical design of buildings, including lighting, power, and systems.
• At least 3 years of experience in building electrical design.
• Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the position location, such as a PE or P.Eng license.
• Strong computer skills with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Revit, SKM, AGI, and Easy Power.
• Commitment to active participation in an employee-owned culture.

Nice to have

• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Experience or interest in sustainable design and LEED.
