Electrical Project Engineer I

Location: On-site in Overland Park, Kansas, or Rogers, Arkansas. Travel may be required up to 25%.

Salary: $73,736–$137,417 per year. Typical new-hire ranges are $77,832–$96,431 for Kansas City, KS, and $73,736–$91,356 for Rogers, AR.

What you will do

• Develop electrical designs under Engineer of Record supervision and senior staff oversight.
• Coordinate project scope, feasibility, equipment needs, and technical requirements with architects, contractors, engineers, manufacturers, clients, and project managers.
• Design lighting, power distribution, telecommunications, fire alarm, security, and lightning protection systems.
• Perform panel loading, service loading, voltage drop, fault current, and photometric calculations.
• Create layouts, detail drawings, schematics, schedules, plans, reports, and specifications using Revit, AutoCAD, and related software.
• Review work, shop drawings, and equipment submittals for technical accuracy and conformance with project requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university, plus 5 or more years of relevant experience. A relevant master’s degree may substitute for up to one year of experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering design, the AEC industry, applicable codes, and industry standards.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, Revit, Visual Lighting, SKM Power Tools, and Bluebeam Revu.
• Ability to enter daily timesheet data and use Microsoft Outlook for email correspondence.
