Electrical Engineer (Power)

Location: Houston Metro, Texas, United States; office attendance required four days per week

What you will do

• Prepare electrical and lighting plans, specifications, and technical reports.
• Design electrical and lighting systems for industrial, higher education, healthcare, and commercial buildings.
• Work with civil, structural, mechanical, fire protection, and other disciplines on multidisciplinary projects.
• Support the electrical engineering group, project delivery, business development, and marketing initiatives.
• Lead projects, coordinate across disciplines, and contribute to mentorship and knowledge sharing.
• Travel occasionally for site visits.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university.
• 8–12 years of consulting electrical engineering experience, with a focus on power industry engineering and design.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification is required.
• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical and lighting system design, electrical and energy codes, and standards including NEC, IEEE, NESC, IESNA, and IECC.
• Experience with SKM, ETAP, or similar electrical modeling software; proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and related design tools is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with medium-voltage distribution, generation, and protection systems.
• Knowledge of local codes and standards, contractors, architects, and construction practices.
• Experience with lighting design.
