Distribution Technician I (Electrical Distribution)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan, United States; requires outdoor work and travel to utility project sites during business hours.

Salary: USD $21.00–$25.00 per hour

What you will do

• Inspect overhead and underground electrical distribution facilities and equipment.
• Collect field data and prepare design sketches, layouts, construction orders, cost estimates, bills of materials, and maintenance reports.
• Assist with storm damage assessments, transformer load studies, circuit overload investigations, and voltage complaint analysis.
• Contact landowners or their agents to negotiate rights-of-way and easements for utility equipment.
• Digitize, copy, and scan drawings, prints, and maps while tracking design activities in company and client information systems.
• Follow company safety policies and the Code of Safe Practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to work outdoors and travel to project sites within utility client territories.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office applications.
• No professional experience or certifications are required.
