What you will do
- Act as a technical authority for unconventional reservoir engineering, guiding well performance, spacing, and development optimization.
- Lead RTA and diagnostic studies covering DSU optimization, interference, depletion, and completion effectiveness.
- Analyze PVT, pressure, DFIT, CPG, and fracture data to characterize reservoir properties, stress regimes, and fracture behavior.
- Apply fracture modeling, reservoir simulation, and forecasting to support completion design and development planning.
- Use machine learning, SQL, structured data workflows, and Spotfire dashboards to analyze large datasets and support surveillance.
- Provide economic evaluations, technical recommendations, cross-functional collaboration, leadership communication, and mentorship.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 10+ years of reservoir engineering experience, including at least 5 years focused on unconventional reservoirs.
- Technical mastery of RTA, PVT, DFIT, CPG, fracture modeling, and reservoir simulation.
- Hands-on experience with production, pressure, and completion data and industry-standard reservoir engineering workflows.
- Ability to independently evaluate complex reservoir problems and influence development decisions.
- Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- SQL-based data analysis and experience with large, structured subsurface datasets.
- Advanced Spotfire or similar visualization and analytics experience.
- Experience with Aries, economic evaluation, or the Midland Basin.
